Everone Wish to get new crispy Notes.Like every year, SBP made special arrangements to issue new notes to the Banks in the need of their growing demand from people ahead of Eid. State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) going to issue fresh currency notes for Eid-Ul-Fitar between May20 – May 31, 2019.

State Bank has announced an Sms service through which people which get themselves register before visiting the designated branches to get the fresh currency notes. SPB said that the new currency notes will be available at 1700 commercial bank branches in 142 cities.

Sms Service:

The central bank started a mobile text message service to enable public to grab a certain amount of fresh currency notes without any additional fees.

1: People are asked to send message to 8877 along with their CNIC number and branch codes of the bank. Sms charges are Rs 2 plus tax.

2: Consumers will receive an sms carrying Redemption Code, E-Branch address and expiry date of Redemption Code.

3: Consumers are asked to visit their respective e-branches along with original CNIC, a photocopy of the CNIC and the Redemption Code received through 8877.

4: SBP has set a limit of one booking per CNIC number and one CNIC number sent from any mobile number.

5: Multiple CNIC number will not accepted from the same mobile number. People can also visit SBP’s Head office to get the currency notes.

Consumers will only be allowed to receive an allocated quote of fresh notes:

1: 3 Packets of 10 Rupees Currency notes

2: 1 Packect of 50 rupees Currency Notes

3: 1 Packet of 100 Rupees Currency Notes

For facilitating maximum number of customers, the total booking limit was also increased this year to 3 million customers as compared to 2.7 million customers limit last year. However, the total capacity of this system is constrained by the number of customers that e-branches can accommodate each day.

Accordingly, the new bookings have been closed due to excessive range of customer. The service has exceeded optimal limit of 3 million customers. However, the issuance of fresh currency notes against the already issued booking codes will continue until the last day of the service.

Terms and Conditions

  • SMS will be charged at Rs. 2+tax
  • One person can only avail the service once only
  • One mobile number can only be used with one CNIC. Every person would need to use separate mobile numbers.
  • In case the date to visit the branch is missed, the transaction will become invalid.
  • Bank branch codes and State Bank’s Branch IDs are different.
